The dynamic Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Musical Theatre degree from University Theatre at Youngstown State University offers extensive performance experiences and real-world opportunities to exceptional students who wish to pursue a professional career in musical theatre. Our courses in applied voice, acting, and dance, masterclasses with industry artists, and musical theatre career preparation assist students as they participate in 16 fully-staged musicals, eight cabarets, numerous individual showcases, and more. You'll receive a significant amount of individual attention and will make important contacts within the industry that will prepare you for a meaningful and successful career!

Our musical theatre students develop exceptional artistic and technical abilities and become versatile artists and innovative leaders with global perspectives. AUDITION INFORMATION

 

• 2 songs in contrasting styles

• 2 acting monologues of approximately one minute in length 

 

University Theatre applicants are automatically considered for talent scholarships; a separate scholarship application is not required
 

 

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

 

3.0 GPA/ACT 19 or SAT 990:

$1,000 annually
 

3.0 GPA/ACT 22 or SAT 1110:

$2,000 annually
 

3.5 GPA/ACT 25 or SAT 1220:

$3,000 annually
 

3.0 GPA/ACT 27 or SAT 1290:

$4,000 annually
