STEP 2: PROGRAM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
You must meet all the following criteria:
Academic Requirements
General Eligibility
- Be 18 years or older with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum high school GPA of 3.0
- If college coursework has been completed, your college GPA will be used instead
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (applies to current/former YSU students and transfer students, including CCP and YREC coursework)
Prerequisite Coursework
(Must be completed within the last 5 years with a grade of C or higher)
- Algebra (High School) or any college-level math course
- Biology (Human Biology or Anatomy & Physiology)
- Chemistry or Physical Science
Notes:
- If both high school and college science/math courses have been taken, college courses will be prioritized.
- High school courses may be used if they are within the 5-year window.
- If high school courses are older than 5 years, the prerequisites must be completed at the college level before applying.
Writing Placement
You must meet one of the following:
- Be eligible to enroll in ENGL 1549 or 1550 based on YSU’s writing placement, OR
- Have completed college-level Writing I with a grade of C or higher

Testing Requirements (YSU Testing Center)
ATI TEAS Exam
- Minimum overall score required: 66%
- Program Selection Note: For the Radiologic Technology program, both the overall score and the Math and Science sub scores are reviewed as part of the competitive selection process. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee selection. Successful applicants typically earn higher scores, especially in Math and Science.
- To be competitive, applicants are encouraged to aim well above the minimum in all areas, especially Math and Science.
- Retakes: Up to 2 times per 12-month period (14 days between attempts)
- Score validity: 2 years
- Submission:
- Official scores must be sent directly to YSU
- Upload your full score report when you request a review
