YSU Students, Community Benefit from Hynes Industries Century of Experience
This month we are pleased to highlight employer partner Hynes Industries. Headquartered in Austintown, Ohio, Hynes has been manufacturing high-performance, custom steel roll formed shapes since 1925. The company has generations of experience in highly-engineered designs for truck and trailer manufacturing, solar, automated material handling and industrial and commercial building products. Their decades of engineering and design experience translates into an unmatched ability to offer the most functional and cost-effective roll form fabrication solutions in the industry.
Hynes prides itself on engagement within the community and is an active partner with YSU. They are regular attendees at career fairs and the STEM Expo and love recruiting our students for internships and hiring them on as full-time employees! A recent example is Carly DiPietro, Industrial and Systems Engineering and Math double-major. Carly interned at Hynes in the Quality Department. Upon her graduation in May 2022, she was hired full-time as a Quality Technician and was recently promoted to Process Engineer.
In addition to Carly, a number of Hynes employees are YSU Alums, including: Allison Leone, a Junior Accountant; Josh Malenic, a Customer Service Rep; Amanda Cox and Cody Hohmann, both engineers; and Michelle Sisler, Marketing and Communications Specialist. Ryan Day, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, earned his Accounting degree at YSU.
Hynes and YSU STEM look forward to our continued partnership!
