Annual Women in STEM Career Day Set for April 30

Heather J.H. Edgar, PhD, Forensic Anthropologist, Professor of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico will be the keynote speaker at the twenty fourth annual Edward W. Powers Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Career Workshop 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Youngstown State University. The free workshop in Kilcawley Center campus is designed to reveal to young women in grades 6 through 12 career opportunities in science and technology. It is open to middle and high school girls and features panel discussions and hands-on activities and lab demonstrations in biology and environmental science, chemistry, engineering, forensics and physical therapy.
