Endowment Agreement
David Bulkley established this scholarship in 2013 to provide annual scholarships to a jazz drummer/percussionist in the YSU Jazz Studies Program in the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University.
The purpose of this endowment is to perpetuate the legacy of the YSU Jazz Studies Program and former student Rob Bulkley, an outstanding drummer in the program
Eligibility:
- Must be a music major at the Dana School of Music.
- Must be a performing jazz drummer/percussionist in the ensembles of the YSU Jazz Studies Program.
- A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.
- No residency requirement.
- Financial need is a consideration (FAFSA must be completed).
- Application must be received by May 15.
Terms:
- A one-year renewable scholarship. Maximum grant for any recipient is four years (eight semesters).
Selection:
The review and selection committee will consist of the Trustee, the Coordinator of Jazz Studies, the Coordinator of Percussion, and the jazz faculty. The scholarship will be awarded to the student deemed worthy by the committee, and who aspires to become an accomplished jazz drummer/percussionist through dedication and a serious intent to succeed in the YSU Jazz Studies Program.
All growth of corpus shall remain a part of the corpus.
