BCHHS Faculty Mentors and Advisors

The Bitonte College of Health and Human Services is proud to support student success through a team-based approach to advising and mentoring. While professional advisors provide guidance on academic planning, registration, and university policies, faculty play a key role as mentors—offering support with career preparation, internships, and professional development.

What is a Faculty Mentor?

Faculty mentors are subject matter experts who work with students in their major to:

  • Explore career paths and internship opportunities
  • Prepare for graduate or professional school
  • Review resumes and build professional networks
  • Offer insight and mentorship based on industry experience

Who has a Faculty Advisor?

Some programs with high-touch or selective admissions will continue to assign students to a faculty advisor for both academic and career guidance:

  • Nursing (BSN and ADN)
  • Dental Hygiene
  • Respiratory Care
  • Radiologic Technology

All other students with 60 or more credit hours will be assigned a faculty mentor while continuing to work with their professional academic advisor for course and graduation planning.

Not sure who your advisor or mentor is?

You can view your assigned advisor or mentor on your Student Profile Page or in Penguin Pass.
