Summer Camp Adventures at the Williamson Innovation Park

This summer, we welcomed more than 60 students to five different STEM camps, where learning went far beyond the classroom.

Students discovered the science of aviation through indoor drones and RC airplanes, explored recycling and sustainability, and learned about wireless communication and the technology that keeps us connected. They also ventured beyond campus through field trips and engaging conversations with guest speakers, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, learn from STEM professionals, and see how classroom concepts are applied in the real world.

One of the most creative experiences focused on sound and music. Students explored the science of sound by investigating vibrations, frequency, and pitch—and then put those concepts into practice by creating music with electronic synthesizers. The activity showed students how science, technology, engineering, and creativity can come together in unexpected and exciting ways.

Across all five camps, students were encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, experiment, and think creatively. By combining hands-on experiments, technology, creative projects, field experiences, and connections with STEM professionals, the camps helped students see STEM not simply as a collection of subjects, but as a way to explore, understand, and interact with the world around them.
