Ohio Means Internships & Co-ops (OMIC4)
Grant In August 2018, the Ohio Department of Higher Education awarded the STEM Careers, Internships & Co-ops office the Ohio Means Internships and Co-Ops (OMIC4) grant. The grant is designed to create professional internship or co-op experience for science students in Ohio’s private sector. Students that complete an eligible experience for course credit receive a $750.00 scholarship at the culmination of their experience. The participating employer will receive a $400.00 reimbursement. As of summer 2020, STEM Careers, Internships & Co-ops has had the opportunity to work with 5 interns and their employers through the OMIC4 grant to honor their wonderful work together.
The OMIC4 grant will end in June 2021. We still have a few spots available for the OMIC4 scholarship and reimbursement! Any interested student or employer should review the eligibility requirements below:
- Science major (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Geology, Physics/Astronomy)
- 20 hours per week, $10 per hour
- Complete internship/co-op course during semester of work
- Working for a private sector company in Ohio
