Association for Women in Mathematics
About Us
The Association for Women in Mathematics at Youngstown State University was formed to encourage and support women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences. This is done through meetings held throughout the school year. These meetings include academic and professional workshops, social nights, and study nights. The academic and professional workshops help to prepare AWM members and give them the tools they need to thrive in school and in the workplace. The social nights allow for a community of women with a love for math to grow closer through other common interests and to create a support system for our members. The study nights are a great opportunity for members to study beside other passionate students and shake up their study routine. The Association for Women in Math is here to support every student in their pursuit of education with a specific focus on women and girls in mathematics. This organization does this through connections, opportunity for growth, and dedication to the field of mathematics.
