Some of Our Graduates

Chris Cotelesse - A 2013 journalism graduate, is a reporter for Houston Community Newspapers. While at YSU, he had been editor of The Jambar, an intern for The News Outlet and he had worked for The Vindicator and Crain's Cleveland Business.

Henry Gomez - A 2003 graduate of the YSU journalism program, is now the political reporter for The Plain Dealer, Ohio’s largest newspaper. Gomez, who also worked at Crain’s Cleveland Business and The Tribune Chronicle of Warren, has covered numerous beats. His previous beats include Cuyahoga County government, Cleveland City Hall and business. Gomez also served as a part-time journalism instructor at YSU and he often comes back to speak to classes and to Press Day gatherings.

Doug Livingston - Who graduated in December 2012, is now the education reporter for the Akron Beacon Journal. The Beacon Journal has won more Pulitzer prizes than any other newspaper in the state and we are quite sure that it’s just a matter of time before Doug gets one. In March 2013, he received word that a project that he completed as a freelance reporter for The Tribune Chronicle won for best investigative reporting in the Ohio Associated Press competition.

Chelsea Miller - The police reporter for the Chronicle Telegram in Elyria, graduated from our program in Spring 2012. She had several job offers and started at The Vindicator and moved to The Chronicle Telegram. She was a finalist for the Ohio Associated Press award for best enterprise reporting in 2013.

Adrienne Sabo - A 2008 journalism graduate, is the associate creative director at the Prodigal Company. While at YSU, she served as the editor of The Jambar.

Lamar Salter - A 2012 journalism graduate, is an associate multimedia editor with NBC News in New York City, working mostly with the The Today Show. He also works on a number of programs and websites throughout the NBC News Digital spectrum.

Emmalee Torisk - A 2012 graduate, is a general assignment reporter for The Vindicator. While at YSU, she was an intern at The News Outlet and the copy editor at The Jambar.
